Documents

Already vaccinated? With a valid vaccine the blood sample can be taken now, but the 90-day wait after it still applies. If your pet already has a valid result from an EU-approved lab and boosters were never late, you do not need a new test.

Good to know

  • Russia lost its exemption from the EU blood test in September 2024.
  • Enter the EU through a travellers' point of entry and show the pet for checks. The certificate must reach that check within 10 days of issue.
  • There are no direct flights: check transit and airline rules.
  • At most 5 pets.
  • A certificate on the old model is valid only if issued before 1 October 2026: ask your vet for the model in Regulation (EU) 2026/705.
